Hide and Seek!

Yes, I'm alive. Exhausted, but alive. I've been playing hide and seek. My life is overwhelming right now. And so it goes. Whenever another scoop of responsibility is added to my plate, my blog suffers for a short period of time while I adjust to the change. But with life and work, it had to happen. But I'll be back on a regular schedule soon enough. (I promise.)

I have 158 movies to watch instead of what I first thought, which was 74. BUT now I only have 3 months! FRAK!

Mars Photos!

Fun fact of the day, MARS!

This week, NASA released the first images of Mars taken by it's Curiosity rover, which landed on August 6th near the foot of a mountain three miles tall inside a crater called Gale. While a nearly two-year mission Curiosity will investigate whether the region has ever offered conditions favorable for a microbial life, including the chemical ingredients for life. Cool right??

On another note...

Did you also know that NASA is developing a Space-Bound Submarine?? With the Shuttle program no more, NASA funding going to 28 such projects. And one of those 28 projects includes a submarine designed to explore Jupiter's moon Europa.

The Works Of My Dark Minion??

It's hard to say what happened exactly but I don't remember feeling so depressed. I woke up about a week ago feeling a little down. I made it to work and found that I didn't feel like talking to anyone. My mood ranged from anxious and bored to feeling like I was on the verge of tears. 

My workmate seemed happy to see me and said "seems like I haven't seen you for ages". All I could think was "I don't want to talk to you, leave me alone" but I was polite.

I said my "hi's" and "hellos" But walked away as soon as I had a chance. Didn't want them to ask my anything with substance. Didn't have the energy to answer.

And it's been like that sense then...

Another work workmate of mine came up to me a couple days ago and asked why I've been so blah. I just stood there. Making no eye contact. Just frozen but I wasn't frozen with fear, I just emotionally couldn't fake an answer, especially not with her. I got home and went to bed, hoping I'd feel better in the morning.

Days later... the same.

Even today I really don't want to leave my room because my roommates are home, which means I'd have to talk to them. I can't think of anything I want to do less.

I have a pointless 4 hour shift tonight and I don't think I will be able to handle it. I'm going to break down. I'm already thinking of ways I can avoid people. 

I'm not always like this, I usually enjoy being at work or at home. For some reason though I feel far too depressed to interact with people. Fingers crossed for a better mood tomorrow morning. I hope to keep it together.

In The Kitchen: Greek Pasta

Greek Pasta Salad

5 oz dry Lasagnettes pasta, uncooked (about 1 ½ cups)
½ pint cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
1 cup cucumber, diced, seeded (peeled or unpeeled)
1 cup  pitted Kalamata olives, drained
½ cup red onion, diced
3 oz  good quality feta cheese, crumbled
¼ cup Greek Salad Dressing (recipe follows)
Coarse ground black pepper
Oregano

Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain in a colander, rinse with cold water, and drain again. Transfer to a large bowl, add tomatoes, cucumber, olives, onions, and feta cheese. Toss together. Drizzle dressing over pasta; toss to coat. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 2 hours to 24 hours. Sprinkle black pepper and oregano. Makes 4-6 servings.

The Dressing1 tsp. chili stone ground mustard*
¼ cup white wine vinegar
½ cup olive oil
½ tsp. dried oregano
½ tsp. fine sea salt
½ tsp. freshly ground pepper
¼ tsp. dried basil

Place all ingredients in a jar with lid, and shake well to mix. Store in the refrigerator.

IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!
